What is embroidered workwear?

Embroidery Derby services are the application of thread or yarn through the use of a needle. A great way to add a personal touch to your workwear item. You can embroider names, initials, branding or images and with little effort, you can promote your business and increase brand awareness.

There are two main types of custom embroidery: hand embroidery and machine embroidery. Hand embroidery is the more traditional method and involves stitching by hand using a needle and thread. Machine embroidery designs are done with the help of a sewing machine. This method is often faster, easier and more precise when focusing on branding repetition on workwear items.

How do you get my logo on clothing?

Using logo digitisation is an extremely complex process. OHEAP has been supplying this service for over 30 years. We have a 1st class reputation for providing a high-quality and efficient embroidery design and printing service to its customers.

Embroidery machines are not capable of reading the same files that a computer can. Often customers will submit a JPG or PNG file of their company logo. If the artwork is good quality, we are able to use that artwork and convert it into a DST embroidery file.

What type of embroidery is right for me?

Straight Stitch

Also known as the running stitch, this stitch is popular in custom embroidery services. The straight stitch, is the act of passing a needle through the fabric at a regular distance. If a straight stitch is repeated, a thicker line can be created for bold designs, outlining or shading. Contrary to what you may think, curved shapes can also be achieved using straight stitches.

Satin Stitch

A satin stitch is also known as a damask stitch. We would often advise that embroidery lettering, words and borders are embroidered in satin as it is shiny and therefore easier to distinguish from the clothing fabric.

Achieve a shiny, eye-catching look for your brand using this stitch type.

Fill Stitch

A fill stitch, also known as a tatami or ceding stitch is more durable. This is often used to fill blank space on larger designs and achieve a textured look.

Can you embroider specialist protective garments?

Heat seal is the process of creating a vinyl design and applying the transfer using a heat press. When permanently sealing your design to a waterproof or high visibility garment, there is no better option than heat seal. Highly durable, a heat seal can be applied to a variety of cotton or polycotton clothing items as well as synthetic clothing and protective clothing.

Should you require a full colour or single colour company name or logo on the back of your high visibility garments, we can cater for all your needs.

Can we use Standard Embroidery Derby Services on Waterproof Garments?

The permeability of a waterproof garment will be affected with standard embroidery services as thousands of small holes are punched into the clothing item. This will allow liquids to pass through and therefore affect the waterproofing qualities.
