Client: All clients where fire alarms are serviced or installed.
Location: At the premises of clients throughout the United Kingdom.
Specific Activity: The assessment looks at potential risks to
employees and others relating to the servicing and installation of
Fire Alarm Systems.
Assessment Review: In 3 years or in the event of a change in the
nature of the task.

Work is supervised and audited. The Technicians and Health and Safety Manuals are contained in each vehicle. |

All work is undertaken in accordance with the IEE Wiring Regulations and BS 5839 - Fire detection and alarm systems for buildings and BS5266 - Emergency Lighting. The Company health and safety arrangements are followed. Tests for electrical cables and pipes made prior to drilling. Areas are left clean and tidy. |
Noise, electricity and working heights |
Employees and others - |
Hearing protection is worn when drilling. Live working is restricted and suitable precautions are taken. Suitable access equipment is used. |
Travelling/access issues |
Employees and others - |
All Technicians are qualified drivers using properly maintained vehicles. A hi-vis vest and thermal jacket is supplied. A First Aid kit is carried. On arrival Technicians report / sign in and receive any local safety briefing. |
Contact with Asbestos or Chemicals |

Inquiries are made regarding the presence of asbestos. Suspicious walls, ceilings etc are not disturbed. Disturbance of any asbestos is not permitted. Chemicals are used in small quantities and in well- ventilated areas. |
Manual handling - use of poor techniques |

Technicians are trained in safe handling techniques. Safety footwear and workwear is worn. |

No further action is required.
